“The Compassion Lamp”

Oscar created this stained-glass lampshade for our mother in the 1980’s. He wanted her to have a small light next to her bed to comfort her. In 2001, when she moved to a nursing home, he brought it with her so that she would have something familiar nearby. Eventually he honored me, the Sister, by allowing me to inherit it. The lamp is a treasured expression of his love and compassion.
